He created a removal business and acted as a salesman visting clients in a very smart suit. He was involved in the Boys Brigade.
G Stubbs Removal Contractors was established in 1934 and is still going strong although it was purchased from his sons and was then called Stubbs Removers Ltd. Here is a picture of one of the early vans. It is now part of HJ Clark or Clark & Sons, another old Blackpool firm.

On the Death Certificate dated 22 February 1941 number 498 in Blackpool North: George William Henry Stubbs died on 21 February 1941 aged 67 in Victoria Hospital. He was living at 18 Raikes Parade, Blackpool, was employed as a removal contractor, and the death due to cardiac failure, articular fibrilation, and chronic rheumatic heart disease. The informant was R Stubbs, his son who was in attendance.
