.I cannot find an entry in the Ancestry 1851 Census (a large part of rural Elstead is missing) but in the West Surrey Family History Society West Surrey 1851 census as Thomas Luff aged 7, born in Frensham and living with his parents (Thomas and Ann), two brothers (Charles and James) and three sisters (Ann, Mary and Sarah) at Elstead, Surrey.
His brother was registered in January-March 1852 in Hambledon and baptised on 25 January 1852 at St Michael and All Angels, Thursley when they were living in Elstead.
His brother was registered in January-March 1854 in Hambledon and baptised on 19 February 1854 at St Michael and All Angels, Thursley when they were living in Elstead.
His brother was registered in October-December 1857 in Hambledon and baptised on 31 January 1858 at St Michael and All Angels, Thursley when they were living in Elstead.
His sister was registered in April-June 1860 in Hambledon, and baptised on 27 May 1860 at St Michael and All Angels, Thursley when they were living in Elstead.

The 1891 census shows two more children were born between 1881 and 1885.
