Christening of Harry Luff in the IGI on 12 July 1874 in Thursley, Surrey, parents Thomas and Tryphena Luff.
In the 1881 census as Harry Luff aged 7, born in Elstead, Surrey, and living with his parents (Thomas and Tryphena), four brothers (Albert, Alfred, and Walter and an unnamed infant but it must be Harvey) and sister (Amy) at Van Hurst, Elstead.
His father died in 1885 and his mother married William Corps in 1889.
In the 1891 census as Harry Luff, aged 16, born in Elstead, Surrey, employed as a plumber's labourer, and living with John Lester and his wife Ann (Harry's aunt), and their four children (Ada, Florence, Harry, and Lilly), Harry's aunt (Amy Lester (sic - in the index, Luff on the original)), and Harry's cousins (Annie and Florence - children of Alfred) at the High Street, Chislehurst, Kent.
There are multiple entries in FreeBMD in April-June 1898 in the I. Wight (2b 1241) - Harry Luff, Esther Harry Luff (this is not on the typed original - it has been confused with Esther Luff in Midhurst), Theresa Luff and Lydia Theresa Luff (both on the typed original).
In the 1901 census as Harry Luff aged 26, born in Godalming, Surrey, employed as a railway ?, and living with his wife (Lydia) and a neice (Lillian Pallister aged 3 and born in Fulham, London but I am not sure whose) in 4 rooms at 16 Orchard Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, Hampshire.
Harry Luff was my half second cousin once removed.
