In the 1871 census as Albert Luff aged 6 months, born in Elstead and living with his parents (Thomas and Tryphena) at Pitch Place, Elstead.
In the 1881 census as Albert Luff aged 10, born in Thursley, Surrey, and living with his parents (Thomas and Tryphena), four brothers (Alfred, Harry and Walter and an unnamed infant, but it must be Harvey) and sister (Amy) at Van Hurst, Elstead.
His father died in 1885 and his mother married William Corps in 1889.
Marriage of Albert Luff and Jane Corps in FreeBMD in January-March 1889 in Hambledon (2a192). Jane Corps was William's daughter and the marriage must have been soon after his mothers.
I cannot find an entry for him in the 1891 census - he was probably in the army. His wife and Walter were living with her father and his mother, and Albert Thomas was living with Jane's married sister, Harriet Voller.
In the 1901 census as Albert Luff aged 32, born in Thursley, Godalming, Surrey, a private in the Royal E C Reserve, and living with his wife (Jane H), son (Albert T), a nephew (Albert Corpe - in the index, Corps on the original, aged 10 and born in St Andrews, Greater London), and a boarder (James Strudwick aged 43, born in Woking, Surrey, and employed as a sewerage labourer) in 4 rooms at Stoughton Road (just north of the A3), Stoke next Guildford, Surrey (two doors from his mother and stepfather).
There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Albert Luff born in Thursley in 1871, parents Thomas Luff and Tryphena Horsley, and the three census entries 1871-1891. However I believe the 1891 entry to be incorrect because his place of birth is given as Dorking and and his marriage status as single, and that this entry refers to Albert Luff born in Reigate in April-June 1871.
Albert Luff was my half second cousin once removed.
