"Page 100 Baptisms solemnized in the Parish of Milford in the County of Surrey in the Year 1889 [..] Nov 14 No. 795 Albert Thomas [parents] Albert [a] Private Northampton [illegible] Regiment & Jane Luff [of] Green Lane Milford. P B [private baptism]".

His brother was registered in July-September 1890 in Guildford.

In the 1891 census as Albert Luff aged 1, born in Milford, and living with his aunt (Harriet A Voller), her husband (Thomas), their four sons (Frank, George, Thomas and William), daughter (Jane) and a lodger (William Hersey aged 36, born in Hambledon, Surrey, single and employed as a carter) at Lady Cross Road, Witley, Surrey. His mother and brother were living with her father and stepmother (who was Albert's grandmother). I cannot find an entry for his father who was in the army and so may have been abroad.

His brother's death was registered in July-September 1891 in Guildford and was buried on 19 September 1891 at St John the Evangelist, Stoke next Guildford.

In the 1901 census as Albert T Luff aged 11, born in Milford, and living with his parents (Albert and Jane H), a cousin (Albert Corpe - in the index, Corps on the original, aged 10 and born in St Andrews, Greater London), and a boarder (James Strudwick aged 43, born in Woking, Surrey, and employed as a sewerage labourer) in 4 rooms at Stoughton Road (just north of the A3), Stoke next Guildford, Surrey.
