Birth of Alfred Luff in FreeBMD in April-June 1876 in Hambledon (2a 123) which included Elstead.
In the 1881 census as Alfred Luff aged 5, born in Elstead, Surrey, and living with his parents (Thomas and Tryphena), four brothers (Albert, Harry and Walter and an unnamed infant but it must be Harvey) and sister (Amy) at Van Hurst, Elstead.
His father died in 1885 and her mother married William Corps in 1889.
In the 1891 census as Alfred Luff aged 11 (age originally blank added later incorrectly), born in Thursley, and living with his mother (Hy Js Irena Corps), stepfather (William Corps), nephew (Walter), three sisters (Harvey (really his brother), and Marion Luff and Sarah Corps (sic - in the index, Luff on the original)), and half sister (Annie Corps) at Stoughton Road, (just north of the A3), Stoke next Guildford, Surrey.

In the 1901 census as Alfred Luff aged 25, born in Thursley, a sergeant in the royal artillary, and living with his wife (Louisa) and daughter (Ethel Louisa Tryphena) at Ramillies Barracks and Adjoining Buildings, North Camp, Farnborough, Hampshire.
There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Alfred Luff born in Elstead in 1876, parents Thomas Luff and Tryphena Horsley, his marriage to Louisa Smith in 1898, his daughter and the two census entries 1881 and 1901.
Alfred Luff was my half second cousin once removed.
