In the 1841 census as George Puller (sic - in index) aged 30 (rounded down to nearest multiple of 5), born in Surrey, employed as an agricultural labourer, and living with Mary Ann Puller (wife?), Thomas and William Pullen (sons?), Mary Ann Pullen (daughter?) and George Pullen (father?) at Linkfield Street, Reigate Foreign, Surrey (the old name for Redhill - Linkfield Street is to the south west of the centre).
All the children upto and including Emma were born in Reigate, but Eliza was born in Bermondsey so they moved to Bermondsey before 1850, and assuming it is the correct death for Sarah, in 1848.
In the 1851 census as George Pullen aged 40, born in Reigate, employed as a tanner, and living with his wife (Mary), two sons (Thos and Wm), and two daughters (Eliza and Mary A) and a lodger (Robt Adams aged 16, born in Landwich (Sandwich?), Kent and employed as a tanner) at 3 Prince Street, St. Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, Surrey.
Jane and George were born in Bermondsey, Surrey and they must have moved to Shipston-on-Stour after 1857.
In the 1861 census as George Pulen (sic - on original as well as in index), aged 49, born in Reigate, employed as a tanner, and living with his wife (Mary Ann Pulen), son (George) and daughter (Jane) in Sheep Street, Shipston on Stour, Worcestershire.
If the following census entry is correct his wife died 1861-1871, and he returned to Surrey.
In the 1871 census as George Pullen aged 63, born in Reigate, a widower, employed as a labourer and lodging with Samuel Bush (aged 39, and born in Watham, Essex), his wife Lucy (aged 28 and born in North Wales), their son Samuel (aged 5 and born in Scotland), and two other lodgers (George Lasted born in Lewes, Sussex and George Watkinson born in Reigate, both aged 24, unmarried and labourers) at a public house in Bandon Hill, Beddington, Surrey (between Carshalton and Croydon - there is a cemetery with this name).
On a copy of Entry of Marriage Number 4 in 1872 in Bradford District for Jane Pullen aged 20 and William Henry Stubbs at Bradford Registry Office Jane's father was George Pullen deceased, and was a leatherdresser.
However assuming the 1871 entry is for the correct person, there is no applicable entry in the FreeBMD after that except for George Pullen in April-June 1873 aged 65 in Reigate (2a 90). Had Jane lost touch with her family?
There are twentyfive entries in Ancestry Public Member Trees for George Pullen but many give his parents as George Pullen and Lucy Goff. Note that these parents are incorrect as their son joined the Canadian army.
Bletchingley is about 5 miles east of Reigate, and Reigate Foreign (Redhill) is one mile east of Reigate.
