Notes

Christening of Anne Turner in the IGI on 9 July 1769 in Warsop, Nottinghamshire, parents Thomas and Sarah Turner.

Marriage of Hannah Turner and William Empson in the IGI on 25 December 1786 in Warsop, Nottinghamshire. The same information is in Ancestry England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973 and Ancestry England & Wales Marriages, 1538-1988.

The first five children were christened in Warsop, and born in Church Warsop just north of Warsop (John in C Town and Hannah in WM Woods (there is a William Wood Farm and William Wood Bridge near Warsop Vale on B6031). Betty and Samuel were christened in Teversal so I assumed the family moved in about 1797. Her name is given as Hannah in all these entries.

Warsop is on the A60 22 miles north of Nottingham (not to be confused with Worksop!) and 5 miles NE of Mansfield on A60. Teversal is some 20 miles north of Nottingham, 5 miles west of Mansfield on B6014.
