Entry in the IGI for the marriage of Charles Croucher and Charlotte Shrub on 25 June 1832 in Frensham, Surrey. The same information is in Ancestry England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973. This entry is also in the West Surrey Family History Society West Surrey Marriages but his name is spelt Crowcher. He was of this parish while Charlotte was from Headley, Hampshire, and it was by banns. The Bishops Transcripts (No. 204) has the marriage of Charles Croucher (widower) and Charlotte Shrub (spinster of Headley) married by banns by John Rogers on 25 June 1832, witnessed by Charles Dutton, Ann Vivery? and Harriett Croucher. Charles Croucher made his mark.

In the 1841 census as Charlotte Croucher aged 36 (rounded down to a multiple of 5), born in Surrey, and living with Charles Croucher (husband?), Charles, John and Stephen (sons?), and Charlotte, Elizabeth and Mary (daughters?) in Lower Churt, Frensham Tything of Churt, Farnham, Surrey. Her husband's daughter Ann Luff and her family were living at the same address. This was not Squirrels.

Her husband died on 22 December 1843 in Churt.

In the 1851 census as Charlotte Croucher aged 55, born in Headley, Hampshire, widowed, a grocer and living with her two sons (John and Stephen), two daughters (Charlotte and Clara) and a visitor (James Thomson aged 10 months and born in Kingslar, Surrey) in Lower Churt, Frensham Tything of Churt, Surrey (this was probably Squirrels).

On a copy of the Entry of Death made on 26 January 2005 it states that Charlotte Croucher of Churt Frensham who was present at the death of Esther Baker (daughter-in-law) on 27 July 1857 at Churt, Frensham was the informant who registered it on 29 July 1857 at Farnham.

In the 1861 census as Charlotte Croucher aged 59, born in Headley, Hampshire, widowed, a grocer and living with her daughter (Clare) and grandson (Mathew H) Lower Churt, Frensham Tything of Churt, Surrey. This was probably Squirrels.

In the 1871 census as Charlotte Croucher aged 70, born in Headley, Hampshire, widowed, a grocer, and living in Frensham Tything of Churt, Surrey. Her daughter Clara and family were living next door.

In the 1881 census as Mrs Croucher aged 89, widowed, a grocer and living with Mary Ann Chandler (aged 50, born in Churt, Surrey single and a charwoman - probably living separately as there were two parts to the house) at Squirrels, Churt, Frensham, Surrey. Her daughter Clara and family were living next door (but not in Squirrels)

In the 1891 census as Charlotte Chroacher (sic - on the original) aged 89, born in Headley, Hampshire, widowed, and lodging with Richard Huntingford (aged 64 born in Headley, Hampshire and a farm labourer), his wife (Fanny aged 64 and born in Headley, Hampshire) and a boarder (Harriett Deadman - her sister) in Hindhead, Frensham, Surrey.

Squirrels was a tented property over 200 years old belonging to Hale House or possibly Greencross. It was divided into two tenements before 1749. Only half the original building survives (Phillip Brooks - Churt: A Medieval Lanscape Page 42).
