I cannot locate an entry for his birth but his parents may have been Thomas Payne who was buried 29 March 1775 and Jane who was buried 30 November 1780. A Richard Payne son of Thomas was baptised 2 May 1761 and buried 21 May 1761 in Trotton who may have been a brother.
