Birth of Charles Lutt (sic - in the index, Luff on the handwritten original) in FreeBMD in October-December 1848 in Hambledon (4 206) which included Elstead and Thursley (I suspect he was born at Pitch Place which is on the border).
Christening of Charles Luff in the IGI in 14 January 1849 in Thursley, Surrey, parents Thomas and Anne Luff. Thursley is closer to Pitch Place than Elstead.
I cannot find an entry in the 1851 census but in the West Surrey Family History Society West Surrey 1851 census as Charles Luff aged 2, born in Elstead and living with his parents (Thomas and Ann), two brothers (James and Thomas) and three sisters (Ann, Mary and Sarah) at Elstead, Surrey.
His brother was registered in January-March 1854 in Hambledon and baptised on 19 February 1854 at St Michael and All Angels, Thursley when they were living in Elstead.
In the 1861 census as Charles Luff aged 12, born in Elstead, and living with his parents (Thomas and Ann), five brothers (Alfred, Edwin, Henry, James and Thomas) and two sisters (Kate and Sarah) at Pitch Place, Elstead. This address was shared with another family.

In the 1871 census as Charles Luff aged 22, born in Elstead, Surrey, a gas fitter and living with with his wife (Eliza) at 46 Tylney Road, Bromley, Kent.

In the 1881 census as Chas Luff aged 32, born in Elstead, Surrey, a hot water gas fitter, and living with his wife (Eliza), two daughters (Annie and Eliza) and a lodger (John Black aged 16, born in Scotland, single and a plumber's labourer) in Mill Place, Chislehurst, Kent.
Marion was born in Beckenham in 1882.
In the 1891 census as Thomas Luff aged 42, born in Thursby, Sussex (sic), an employed gas fitter, and living with his wife (Eliza), son (Charlie), three daughters (Annie, Eliza and Marion), and a lodger (Thomas Harrod aged 19, born in Norwood, Surrey, single and a builders labourer) at 25 Ravenscroft Road, Beckenham, Kent (off A214 Elmers End Road north of Birkbeck Station).
In the 1901 census as Charles Luff aged 52, born in Thinsley (sic) , Surrey, a plumber working on his own account, and living with his wife (Eliza), son (Charley) and two daughters (Annie and Marian) at 99 Birkbeck Road, Beckenham, Kent (parallel to Ravenscroft Road).
In the 1911 census as Charles Suff (sic) aged 61 and living with Eliza (wife?) and Charlie (son?) in Bromley, Kent.
His wife died in Bromley in 1923.
Death of Charles Luff in FreeBMD in January-March 1938 aged 90 in Bromley (2a 951).
There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Charles Luff born in 1849 in Elstead, Surrey, parents Thomas Luff and Ann Croucher, and his marriage to Eliza Hillman in Lewes in 1870.
