There are three entries in Ancestry All England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 for Ann Harman one for her birth on 5 April 1801 and baptism 13 May 1801 at St. Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, parents Nathaniel and Mary Harman, and two for her birth on 1 May 1801 and baptism on 10 July 1808 in Brighton, Sussex, parents Nathaniel and Mary Harman.

An Ann Harman married Robert Jenner on 6 June 1822 at St Nicholas Brighton and from the 1861 census was born in Brighton in 1801 so there must have been two Ann Harmans born about the same time but only the the above christening entries.

By banns Botp" in one and Ann Harman Spinster and James Rowland in 17 May 1829 at Brighton St Nicholas, Brighthelmston in the other. "Page 69 Marriages solemnized in the Parish of Brighthelmston in the County of Sufsex in the Year 1829 James Rowland of this Parish Bachelor and Ann Harman Spinster of this Parish were married in this Church by banns with Consent of [blank] this seventeenth Day of May in the Year One thousand eight hundred and twenty nine. [Both made their marks] No. 205".
Her son was baptised on 29 November 1929 at St. Nicholas, Brighton in 1829, her son and daughter were born in Hove in 1831 and 1832, and her two daughters were baptised on 27 April 1835 at St Nicholas, Brighton when they were living in York Row.
In the 1841 census as Ann Roseland (sic - in the index, Rowland on the original) aged 40, born in Sussex, and living with James Roseland (husband?), James Roseland (son?), Ann Roseland, Jane Roseland and Caroline Rowland (daughters?), and John Walger (aged 15 born in Sussex and a labourer) in Cavensham Place North, Brighthelmstone St Peter, Sussex.
Her husband died at Cavensish Street North and was buried 2 April 1845 at St Nicholas, Brighton.
In the 1851 census as Ann Rowland aged 50, born in Brighton, Sussex, widowed, a charwoman, and living with her son (James) and daughter (Caroline) at 26 Cavendish Place, St Peter, Brighton, Sussex.
In the 1861 census as Ann Rowland aged 60, born in Brighton, Sussex, widowed, a laundress, and living with her son (James) and daughter (Caroline) at 44 Elder Street, St Peter, Brighton, Sussex.
I cannot locate the family in the 1871 census.

Note that although Brighthelmston was also known as Brighton in 1660 the official change was not until 1810. St Nicholas of Myra is believed to be the true Father Christmas.
Ann Harman was the mother of Jane Rowland, wife of George Barton, great granduncle of Dennis Alfred Barton, my brother-in-law.
