A builder living at Redhearne Green, Churt. The entry in "Further Reflections on Churt" by Oliver Cotton 2004 p16 refering to a brother of Ruth Croucher called Ernest is in fact refering to this Ernest "Ernest left his name to a portion of the village. Ernie's Corner is situated at the top of Old Kiln Close and is in the general area where the original 1880s Institute was sited." This was his builder's yard, now built on. He employed Frederick Deadman, Ruth Croucher's husband.
