D. Bishop Widower of deceased Present at the death 73 Coppetts Road, Muswell Hill [on] Twentieth November 1944." Coppetts Road is just south of A406 North Circular.

The marriage to a Bishop, 5 Children and death came from my father's records. A son came to live with James Croucher for a time.

The following is extracted from an email from Kortosh Kurr: I finally managed to get a look at one of two family bibles that belonged to my great grandfather, Robert Bishop. Robert's wife was Caroline Croucher and his parents-in-law were John Croucher and Elizabeth Croucher (nee Baker). In the center of his bible, he wrote down the birthdates of these three Crouchers. [...] The bible is dated 1883. The Croucher entries were written some time between 1900 and 1904, when the people involved were all still alive. It looks like he initially wrote the "183..." for his parents-in-law's birth years and then filled in the fourth numbers later. This suggests that he knew their birth dates but not their birth years. And, in fact, the birth years that he finally wrote down seem inconsistent with the known christening dates, indicating that perhaps John and Elizabeth had either forgotten or didn't know or lied about their birth years when asked. [...] John Croucher Born 13th December 1833 (or possibly 1835?) (the 183 was clearly written first, then the last number, 3 or 5, added later) (His christening date is known to be 11 (or possibly 1) Jan 1835. This would make the 1835 birth wrong. Given the similar lack of memory from Abednego Bishop about his birth year, and given the tendency for parents to christen their babies about 1 month after their births, I suspect that the most likely birth date is 13 Dec 1834.) Elizabeth Croucher (nee Baker) Born 20th July 1839 (It looks like the first 2 numbers of the year were written first, then the 39 was added later.) (Elizabeth Baker’s christening is known to have been on 16 Aug 1835, so the birth year of 1839 is definitely wrong. Given the similar lack of memory from Abednego Bishop and John Croucher about their birth years, and given the tendency for parents to christen their babies about 1 month after their births, I suspect that the most likely birth date is 20 Jul 1835.) Robert .D. Bishop Born 19th Jan 1874 (This is the first entry where the birth year appears to have been written in full the first time) (which is further evidence that Robert himself wrote this.) (This date is correct; it fits the known record of his christening and birth.) Caroline. Bishop (nee Croucher) Born 28th April 1867 (This date is correct; it fits the known records of her christening and birth.)
