His marriage status is not given, but I believe his wife and Thomas Cox (who I believe was his wife's nephew, later called Thomas Allen Read) were with Mary Hambling in Hall Lane, South Lopham, Norfolk.
In the 1851 census as Elizah (sic) Cox, aged 41 (I think it should be 47), born in South Lopham, an agricultural labourer, and living with his wife (Francis), three daughters (Eliza, Harriet, and Mary Ann), a granddaughter (Anna Maria Cock (daughter of Harriet)) and a nephew (Thomas Allen Read aged 10 and born in Berkely Mary (sic - I think it is Berkeley Square), Middlesex) at Low Common, South Lopham Norfolk.
His wife died in 1859.
