"William Adams, a Taylor and Jane Maynard, a Spinster, both of this Parish, were married in this Church by banns, with consent of Parents, this Thirteenth Day of July in the Year One Thousand, eight hundred. & eighteen, by me W Williams Curate. This marriage was solemnized between one William Adams and Jane Maynard in the Presence of Frances Maynard, & James Bridger. No 18".

His children were christened in Farnham in 1818 to 1837 where he is stated to be a tailor.

In the 1841 census as William Adams aged 41, not born in Surrey, a tailor, and living with Jane (wife?), and Elizabeth and Mary (daughters?) in East Street, Farnham, Surrey.

In the 1851 census as William Adams aged 57, born in Felborne (sic - in the index, Selborne on the original), Hampshire, a tailor and living with his wife (Jane) and three daughters (Elizabeth, Fanny and Mary) in East Street, Farnham, Surrey.

His wife died in Farnham in 1858.

In the 1861 census as William Adams aged 62, born in Selbourne, Hampshire, widowed, a tailor, and living with his two daughters (Elizabeth and Mary) and granddaughter (Fanny E ) in East Street, Farnham, Surrey.

There are two entries in 1871 census for William Adams aged 72, born in Sibbourne, Hampshire in one and Sebbourne, Hampshire in the other, widowed, no stated employment in one, Inmate of Adams House formerly Tailor in the other, and living with his two daughters (Elizabeth and Mary) in both, in West Street (Pearseys?) Yard, West Street, Farnham, Surrey in one, in Adams House, (near 53) Castle Street, Farnham, Surrey in the other.

Death of William Adams in FreeBMD in January-March 1872 aged 74 in Farnham (2 63).

Relationship

William Adams was the first cousin once removed of Mary Ann Carpenter Adams, wife of Edward Fullick, my first cousin four times removed.
