Notes

Entry in the IGI for the christening of Elisa Adams on 21 May 1820 in Tasburgh, Norfolk, parents Joseph and Sarah Adams (it is not clear whether this was extracted or submitted). The same information is in Ancestry All England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975.

There is also a submitted entry in the IGI for Eliza Adams born in 1824 in Newton, Norfolk, but no parents given.

Entry in Ancestry Norfolk, England, Bishop's Transcripts, 1579-1935 for Elisa Adams baptised on 21 May 1820 in Tasburgh, Norfolk, parents Joseph and Sarah Adams. "Page [blank] Baptisms solemnized in the Parish of Tasburgh in the County of Norfolk in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty [...] May 21 No. [blank] Elisa daughter of Joseph, a Husbandman, and Sarah Adams of Tasburgh."

On a copy made on 19 January 2006 of the entry of marriage number 21 1846 in Newton Flotman, Norfolk, Eliza Adams was a witness to the marriage of her sister Emily to James Cowles on 27 July 1846. Eliza made her mark.

In the 1851 census as Eliza Adams aged 27, born in Newton, single, employed as a servant and living with Jeremiah Martins (aged 36, born in Shotesham, and employed as a groom), his wife (Emily aged 33 and born in Shotesham), their six children ( Abraham aged 7, Edward aged 9, Eliza aged 2, Emma aged 1 month, James aged 5 and Jeremiah aged 10, all born in Newton) at The Park, Newton Flotman, Norfolk.

In the 1861 census as Eliza Adams aged 35, born in Tapboro, Norfolk (this could be Tasburgh on the original), single, employed as a cook and living with John Wilson (aged 77, born in Scotland, and employed as a russian merchant), his unmarried children all born in Russia but british subjects (Edward aged 35, James M aged 45 both russian merchants, and Sophia aged 30), and his nephew (Alexander Westley aged 11) and neice (Elizabeth Westley) both born in Russia but british subjects at 7 Aberdeen Terrace, Lee, Lewisham, Kent (on the southern edge of Blackheath). I am not certain about this entry, but I cannot find who else it could apply to.

Tasburgh is 1 mile south of Newton Flotman on the A140 south of Norwich.
