Notes

Christening of Sarah Swithenbank in the IGI in 1752 in Calverley, Yorkshire, father Stiphen Swithenbank. The same information is in Ancestry England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. There is an entry in Calverley Parish Records (which has the statement "The original Baptism register for the period 1748 to 1755 is very confusing. Entries are very hard to interpret, some entries are duplicated in different years, the dating is unclear and the condition of the register also makes the period difficult to decipher. Other versions that appear on the IGI site and elsewhere, bear little resemblance to these records.") for Sarah Swithenbank on 23 November 1752, father Stephen Swithenbank of Pudsey, a clothier at St Wilfrid.

There is a submitted entry in the IGI for the birth of Sarah Swithinbank on 12 April 1749 in Holbeck, Yorkshire, parents John Swithenbank and Ann Norton, and her marriage to William Waterhouse on 28 August 1769. The same information is in the Pedigree Resouce File. However I believe these are the wrong parents. Another submitted entry gives the same information but adds the marriage is in Calverley. Another gives the marriage in about 1784.
