Birth of Henry Radley Smallridge in a submitted entry in the IGI on 2 June 1873 in Combe Martin, Devon, parents John Smallridge and Mary Norman.

In the 1881 census as Henry Smallridge aged 7, born in Bratton Fleming, Devon and living with his parents, two brothers (George and William), and three sisters (Anne, Mary and Sarah) at Kips-Combe, Bratton Fleming, Devon. (This was the last house in Kipscombe which has just three entries - Cape Farm now on the A399, and two at Kipscombe. The next property is Leworthy. I have assumed they were at Higher Kipscombe from the 1871 census).
In the 1891 census as Henry Smalbridge (sic in the index, Smallridge on the original) aged 17, born in Bratton Fleming, single, employed as a farmer's assistant, and living with his parents, three brothers (Alfred, Fererick and George), two sisters (Anne and Sarah), and three lodgers at Handford's Farm, Trentishoe, Devon. This is between South Dean and Trentishoe Town.
In the 1901 census as Henry Smalbridge (sic in the Ancestry Index, Smallridge on the original and in the PRO Index), aged 27, born in Brotton Fleming (sic Bratton Fleming on the original), single, employed as a brass trimmer and boarding with his brother George with George Walker (aged 38, born in Carton, Suffolk and employed as a brass trimmer), his wife Sarah (aged 33 and born in Thorne, Yorkshire) and their two sons (Albert aged 5 and George aged 6 both born in Belvedere) at 34 St Johns Road, Erith, Kent. This is near the new A2016 Bronze Age Way NW of Erith centre.

Copy made on 4 October 2005 of Entry of Marriage No 446 in 1904 in the district of Woolwich on 4th September 1904 at The Parish Church of St Nicholas Plumstead in the county of London after banns Henry Radley Smallridge aged 30, a bachelor living at 27 Kashgar Rd and Florence Charlotte Dutton. He was employed as a brass dresser. His father was John Smallridge a labourer. The marriage was witnessed by Edward Thomas Cowles (the husband of Florence's half aunt) and Marion Annie Davis.
The name Radley is from his grandmother's surname.
From Dee Smallridge: Henry Radley Smallridge was born 2 June 1873 in Combe Martin. In 1881 he was a scholar at Kipscombe, Bratton Fleming, in 1891 a farmer's assistant at Handsfords Farm, Trentishoe, in 1901 a brass trimmer boarding at 34 St. John's Road, Erith and in 1912 an engineer trimmer at a gun works living at 46 Friday Road, Erith. He married Florence Charlotte Dutton in July-September 1904 and had four children: Doris Mary, Hilda Winifred, Nellie Florence and William Henry.
