Birth of Edward Luff in the IGI on 23 April 1810 and his christening on 13 May 1810 in Petworth, Sussex, parents James and Sarah Luff.
Marriage of Edward Luff and Harriet Croucher both of this parish, in the West Surrey Family History Society Frensham Marriages on 4 March 1837 by banns. Marriage of Edward Luff to Harriet Croucher on the 4 March 1837 is also in the IGI. This was several weeks after the christening of Levi.
In the 1841 census as Edward Luff aged 28, born in Surrey, employed as an agricultural labourer, and living with Hariott (wife?), Levi (son?) and Hariott (Daughter?) at Houndown, Pitchplace, Elstead, Surrey.
In the 1851 census as Edward Luff aged 38, born in Pettworth, Sussex, no stated employment, and living with his wife (Harriett ), two sons (Levi and William), and three daughters (Elizabeth, Harriett, and Martha) at Cox Heath, Crondall, Hampshire.
In the 1861 census as Edward Luff aged 49, born in Petworth, Sussex, employed as an agricultural labourer and living with his wife (Harriett), and two sons (Edward and William) at Shortfield Common, Frensham, Surrey.
In the 1871 census as Edward Luft (sic - in the index, correct on the original), aged 60, born in Tretborough in the index, Fulborough on the original and possibly Pulborough, employed as an agricultural labourer and living with his wife (Harriett), daughter (Elizabeth), son (Edward) and grandson (Alfred) at Shortfield Common, Frensham. I am not sure who Alfred was, but I believe this is a duplicate entry for Arthur William Luff (although I cannot explain why the name is different except that he may have been in transit from Reading at the time that the census form was filled in and there was confusion over his name).
In the 1881 Census as Edward Luff aged 69 born in Petworth, employed as an agricultural labourer, and living with his wife (Harriett) at Shortfield Common, Frensham.
Death of Edward Luff in FreeBMD in January-March 1891 aged 78 in Farnham (2a 100).
Edward Luff was the husband of Harriet Croucher, my half great grandaunt.
