Afocs the 29th day of October 1780 by banns Published October 8th and 15th and 22 in the Year of Our Lord 1780. This Marriage was solmnised Between us the day and year above James Holms his mark and Hannah Hogg in the Presence of us John Hogg and Henry Ive ".

All the children were christened in Horsforth, but only the father's name is given, James Holms except in the case of Joseph where it is spelt Homes in the IGI.

His wife was buried on 10th November 1817 at St Margaret, Horsforth.

There are twenty six entries in Ancestry Public Member Trees for James Holmes born and died in Horsforth, his marrage to Hannah Hogg and three children Mary, John and James - I cannot find any record of the christening of John who is death was on 29 November 1798 (the only death of a John Holms on that date was in Baildon so I have ignored this entry. Carol Hutton and Janice Earnshaw have entries for the marriage of James Holms and Hannah Hogg on 29 October 1780 in Guiseley, Yorkshire and his daughter Hannah.

Guiseley is about 4 miles NW of Horsforth (a chapelry in the parish of Guiseley) which is about 5 miles NW of Leeds.
