"No. 96 James Holms and Hannah Hogg both of Horsforth in the Parish of Guiseley were married in Guiseley Church. Afocs the 29th day of October 1780 by banns Published October 8th and 15th and 22 in the Year of Our Lord 1780. This Marriage was solemnised Between us the day and year above James Holms his mark and Hannah Hogg in the Presence of us John Hogg and Henry Ive ".

All the children were christened in Horsforth, but only the father's name is given, James Holms except in the case of Joseph where it is spelt Homes.

There is a gravestone in the Horsforth Garden of Remembrance:

Here lies the body of Mary the daughter of James and Hannah Holms, clothier of Horsforth who departed this life on the 28th day of February 1787 in the 6th year of her life.
Also here lies the body of John Holms, son of the above who departed this life on the 29th November 1798 in the 3rd year of his life.
Also here lies the body of Hannah, wife of the above who died 10th November 1817 in the 63rd year of her life.
