Notes

Entry in FreeBMD for the birth of Ann Deadman in January-March 1849 in Farnham (4 183). There were several Ann Deadmans born in Dockenfield/Frensham area in and around 1850 and there is some confusion between them. I believe this Ann was born in Dockenfield in Hampshire, mother Eliza daughter of Charles. Note that Dockenfield was not a parish, and was part of Frensham parish including the area in Hampshire. The area west of the border was in Alton district, Headley was in Farnborough district at the time of her birth. The Surrey side of the border was in Farnham district. However the early census entries place her birth in Hampshire.

In the 1851 census as Darars Dendrinos (sic - in the index, Annie Deadman on the original), born in Seakenfield (sic -in the index), Hampshire and living with her grandparents (Charles and Harriett), two uncles (Charles and Meriams), two aunts (Caroline, Emily (grandmother in the index), and Mariea) and a lodger (Bedrich Hamanond (Frank Hammond) aged 40, born in Emchath, Hampshire, single and an agricultural labourer) in ?, Dockenfield, Surrey.

In the 1861 census as Ann Deadman born in Dockenfield, Hampshire, and living with her grandparents (Charles and Harriet), uncle (Charles), three aunts (Caroline, Mary and William) and a lodger (James Deadman aged 14, born in Dockenfield and employed as a carter) at Morehouse (Moorhouse), Headley, Hampshire (note this is only a mile south of Dockenfield Manor Farm).
