There is an entry in Ancestry New York, U.S., Arriving Passenger and Crew Lists (including Castle Garden and Ellis Island), 1820-1957 for Hester Croucher aged 49, single, a HKeeper, born in Selby? England, and a non-immigrant alien of New York, USA, home address 459 5th Avenue, New York (implies she was returning from a visit to England) paid for by her self, had $50, had been to various parts of USA, height 5 ft 9.5 in, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, cut mark on throat, and arrived New York on 23 August 1912 on the Lusitania from Liverpool. I am not convinced this was her although I cannot link it to any other person, and have no information re her return to the UK.
There are thirty seven entries in Ancestry Family Trees for Esther Croucher.
Ruth Croucher (her neice) said she married in America and died about 1920 in Boston. She may have married Neil McNamara. I cannot find any entry for her in the UK 1901, 1911 or 1921 censuses or 1900-1930 USA censuses, nor in the UK or USA Registers of Marriages.
Esther Croucher was my grandaunt.
