I cannot locate him in the 1911 census but he was not living with his parents.

In the 1921 census as Albert James Croucher aged 34 years 1 month, born in Headley, Hampshire, a crane driver employed by L & S W Railway at Southampton Docks, no children under 16, and living with his wife (Violet Mary) in two rooms at 108 St Andrews Road, Southampton, Hampshire.

His daughter was born in Southampton on 12 May 1922 and registered in April-June 1922 in Southampton.
