Notes

Entry in the Pedigree Resource File for the baptism of Roger Cowles on 21 June 1670 in Kirby Cane, Norfolk, parents Roger and Ann Cowles, his marriage to Ann, and his death in March 1727 in Kirby Cane.

There is also a submitted entry in the IGI for Roger Coulds christened on 21 June 1670, parents Roger and Ann Coulds. Angus Palmer has seen this entry on film and confirmed it by email. He also states that the Coulds spelling was used up to Martha ("In every case the parents are given as Roger Could(s) and Ann. The writing is absolutely clear except that every time there is a little squiggle after the "d" and its hard to tell if that is meant to be an "s" or is simply a flourish.") and then changed to Cowles. There is also an entry for 1727 "Roger Cowles buried March ye 20th".

All 11 children were christened in Kirby Cane.

Kirby Cane is some 12 miles SSE of Norwich.
