She had 1 sibling: Lawrence. Grew up in Newhaven. Her parents wouldn’t let her go to grammar school, so worked as shop cashier. At time of marriage, living in Brighton. 1944, had twins, Michael Ian & Joy Rosamund. Moved to Shoreham-by-Sea. 1946, had Linda Heather. Moved to Orford, Suffolk, where George was stationed in the RAF. Lived in Campsea Ashe. About 1948, George left the RAF and opened a cycle and radio shop. 1954, moved back to Newhaven to look after George’s mother, Martha. 1964, moved to Ripe, then Barroway Drove, Norfolk. Ran a post office store. Moved to Tenbury Wells then Leominster. Frugal & strict but also nice & kind. Taught me to tie my shoe laces. Sent me tins of food when I was at university.

Newhaven became part of Lewes in 1935.
