There is an entry in Harrogate People and Places for the will of Thomas Clemishaw a linen weaver of Harrogate dated 5 October 1757 which includes "To my son John Clemishaw the inclosed ground belonging to the Harrogate Chapel and now in my possession.", probate granted 8 January 1762.
All the children were christened in Pannal.
He may have been the David Clemishaw who witnessed the will of Thomas Wilkinson, butcher of the parish of Pannal, dated 11 th November 1784 in Harrogate People and Places
There is an entry in Harrogate People and Places for David Clemitshaw a linen weaver of Harroagte for an Admon Bond for £32 on 12th June 1799 for Mary Clemitshaw of Harrogate, Widow and Thomas Kidd of Pannal, Farmer. The effects were valued as under £17 as appraised by Robert Mitton, W Dineley, and John Dearlove on 7th January 1799.
Pannal is 3 miles south of Harrogate on the A61
