Thomas married Betsey Clarke at St Michael's in Camberley on the 22nd of January 1876. They had at least eight children. He was working as a waiter most likely at the Royal Military Academy (now the RMA) or the Staff College. Initially they lived at Park Street but by 1891 Thomas was working as a Butler and living at a cottage in Gordon Road which he named Worldham. Thomas died on the 3rd of October 1924 and was buried at Camberley on the 8th of October.
