In the 1841 census as Richard Baker aged 7 months, born in Surrey, and living with Richard and Mary (parents?), Fanny and Martha (sisters?), Henry Moor aged 35 and Ann Sarley aged 15 in Lower Churt (next property is Squirrels House so it may have been Hale House), Frensham, Farnham, Surrey.

In the 1851 census as Richard Baker aged 10, born in Frensham, and living with his parents (Richard and Mary), three brothers (James, John and William), three sisters (Fanny, Jane and Martha) three servants (Hannah Court aged 23, John Moorey aged 21 and William Moorey, all born in Thursley, Surrey and single), and a visitor (Phebe Woods aged 49, born in Frensham, Surrey, and married with no stated employment) at Emley Farm (west of Rutton Hill RoadThursby (sic), Surrey.

His mother died in Shalford in 1860.

In the 1861 census as Richard Baker aged 19, born in Frenchham (sic - on the orginal), Surrey, single, a worker on the farm and living with his widowed father (Richard), four brothers (Fredrick, James, John and William), two sisters (Jane and Mary), cousin (Mary Ann Baker), aunt? (Eliza Loveland), and a servant (Mary Smithers aged 18, born in Thursley, Surrey and single) in Chinthurst Lane, Shalford, Surrey.

In the 1871 census as Richard Baker aged 31, born in Trimdon (sic - original illegible), Surrey, single, a porter and boarding with Robert Randall (aged 42, born in Islington, Middlesex and a baker) and his wife (Elizabeth aged 31 and born in Market Harborough, Leicestershire) at 38 Agnes Street, Lambeth, London.

Death of Richard Baker in FreeBMD in April-June 1887 aged 46 in St Saviour (1d 52).

Baker's of Headley states Richard’s fourth child, Richard, was baptized in Frensham on 29 November 1840. The following year he was living with his parents and Martha & Fanny at Lower Churt, and ten years later was with the family at Emly Farm, Thursley, a ‘scholar’. In 1861 he was living with the family at Chinthurst Lane in Shalford, described as “working on the farm”. He married Emma (surname unknown); they moved to Southwark and had at least one child there: George W, born in 1874/5. In 1881 the family was living at “P Block” in Peabody Square, Blackfriars Road; Richard was working as a railway porter.
