In the 1881 census as Ethel C (sic - on the original) Ayres aged 6, born in Frimley, Surrey, and living with her parents (Edward and Mary), brother (Oswald), and two sisters (Agnes M and Ella M) at the Royal Albert Orphan Asylum, Frimley, Surrey.

In the 1891 census as Cara Edith Ayers (sic - on the original) aged 15, born in Himley (sic - in the index, Frimley on the original), Surrey, and living with her parents (Edwd and Mary), brother (Chs), and a girl servant (Maria Sutton aged 21, single and born in Islington) at Woodland Villa, Erith, Kent.

[father] William John Morey [a] Licensed Victualler, [and] Clara Ethel Ayres [aged] 25 [a] Spinster [of] Woodland Villa, Abbey Wood [father] Edward Ayres [a] Schoolmaster. Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns [...] in the Presence of us Edward Ayres, Mary Ayres, Henry Bailey Ayres, William John Morey Jn Morey [and] Edward Ayres."

In the 1901 census as Clara Ayres aged 26, born in Frimley, Surrey, single, a school teacher, and living with her parents (Edward and Mary), uncle (Fred Ayres), and a servant (Alice Hills aged 16 and born in Gravesend, Kent) at Woodland Villa, Lower Abbey Road, Erith, Kent. However according to the entry in FreeBMD she was already married!! I cannot locate her husband.

Her daughter was born in Padbury and registered in in January-March 1905 in Buckingham, father unknown.

In the 1911 census as Clara E Morey aged 36, born in Frimley, Surrey, married, a teacher headmistress ([illegible]) employed by the County Council, and living with her daughter (Winifred) and parents (Edward and Mary Ayres) in nine rooms at Chackmore, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire.

I cannot locate her husband in the 1911 census, he married Hilda Annie Gibbins circa 1916 in Western Australia and died on 12 September 1919 in Brookton, Western Australia.

In the 1921 census as Clara Ethel Morey aged 46 years 6 months, born in Bagshot, Surrey, widowed, an elementary school teacher employed by Bucks council at C of E School, Buckley, and living with her mother (Mary Toop Ayres) in seven rooms at 17 Well St, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire.

In the 1939 England and Wales Register as Clara E Marry (sic - in the idex, Morey on the original) born 1-0 December 1874, widowed, a school mistress on Boardown, and living with Howard B P Rogers (born 2 May 1900, married, George Proprietor Mator R and special Constabury volunteer), Winifred E Rogers (born 26 January 1905), Albert H D Hayward (born 23 December 1857, married and a L C C assistant school master) and Sybil C Hayward (born 6 September 1888, married and a L C Crys Helper School) at Belorder (illegible), Stowe Avenue, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire. Much is illegible.
