In the 1841 census as Sarah Adams aged 5 months, born in Surrey and living with William and Hannah (parents?), George (brother?), Eliza (sister?), William and Ruth Vindon (grandparents?) and Richard Vindon (uncle?) at Hungry Hill, Farnham, Surrey. The census was on 6 June 1841 so I assume she was born in December.

Her first two sisters was born in Hale in 1844 and 1846, and third in St George the Martyr in 1849.

"1863 Marriage solemnized at St Johns Church in the district parish of St John Waterloo in the County of Surrey No 360 May 31 1863 George Mitchell of full age, a batchelor and porter of Belvidine Road, father Thomas Mitchell, a shoe maker, and Sarah Adams of full age, a spinster of Belvidene Road, father William Adams, a shoe maker Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after banns in the Presence of William Adams (father?) and Jane Adams (sister?)".

Her son George was born at 13 New North Street on 4 November 1864. daughter Eleanor at 74 Theobalds Road on 30 September 1866, and Charles Henry at 12 Theobalds Road on 15 March 1868, all at Queens Square St George the Martyr. Her two sons both died in Newington in October-December 1869. Frederick John was born in St Saviour in 1870.

In the 1871 census as Sarah Mitchell, aged 30, born in Hale, Hampshire, and living with her husband (George), son (Frederick), and daughter (Ellenor) at 94 Crampton Steet, St Mary Newington, London. Three other families lived at this address.

Her son William Thomas was born at 94 Crampton Street in 1872 and Frederick John was christened at the same time. Alfred and Alice were born in Birmingham in 1874 and 1878.
