I cannot find an entry in the 1841 census - he may have been at sea.

Marriage of John Absalom and Elizabeth Waddle in FreeBMD in October-December 1848 in Tynemouth (25 500).

In the 1851 census as Jno Absalom aged 30, born in Blyth, Northumberland, marriage status is illegible, employed as a mate sailor, and living with Wm Hemp (ageed 37, born in Ryde, Isle of Wight and employed as a railway porter), his wife (Elizh aged 28 and born in Long Warley?, Northumberland?), their three children (Charles aged 1, Elizh aged 6 and Imo aged 6, all born in St Pancras, Middlesex), and Thos Lame (aged 25, born in Leighton, Bedfordshire and employed as a railway porter) at 29 Chassenden? Square, Somers Town, St Pancras, Middlesex (there were several families at this address).

His wife was a widow in 1861.

Relationship

John Absalom was the first cousin once removed of Susannah Emily Absalom, the wife of George Fullick, my third cousin twice removed.
