Christening of William Joseph Young in the IGI on 25 July 1830 in Southwick, Sussex, parents William and Mary Young.

In the 1841 census as William Young aged 11, born in Sussex, and living with William and Mary (parents?), Abraham (brother?), and Elzia, Jane and Mary (sisters?) in Church Street, Southwick, Sussex.

I cannot find him in the 1851 census but he was not living with his parents.

In the 1861 census as William Young aged 31, born in Southwick, Sussex, single, a shoemaker and living with his parents (William and Mary), brother (Abraham) and sister (Emma) in Albion Street, Steyning, Sussex.

I cannot find an entry in the 1871 census.

In the 1881 census as William Young aged 51, born in Southwick, Sussex, single, a shoemaker living with his married sister (Emma Higgings), her husband (John), their three sons (Frederick, Henry and John), three daughters (Emma, Isabel and Victoria) and a lodger (Henry Jeffrey aged 66, born in Brighton, Sussex, single and a general labourer) at 95 Albion Street, Steyning, Sussex.

In the 1891 census as William Jas Young aged 60, born in Southwick, Sussex, single, a shoemaker and a pauper living in the Steying Union Workhouse in New Shoreham, Sussex.

Death of William Joseph Young in FreeBMD in July-September 1897 aged 67 in Steyning (2b 186).
