Birth of James Herbert Young in FreeBMD in January-March 1897 in Woolwich (1d 1261).
In the 1901 census as James Herbert Young aged 4, born in Woolwich, Kent and living with his parents (James and Janet), two brothers (Harry Thomas and Herbert Edward), a visitor (Alice Wilson aged 24, born in Tame, Oxfordshire, single and a domestic servant) and a boarder (Henry Albert Wren aged 20, born in Plumstead, Kent, single and a machinist in steel) at 97 Robert Street, Plumstead, London. (Woolwich and Plumstead had been in London since 1889.)
His brother Harry was born in Plumstead in 1898, and as Plumstead was included within Woolwich it is not clear if the family had moved. The family moved to Medway (probably Chatham) between 1902 and 1905 from the births of Charley and Elsie.
In the 1911 census as James Herbert Young aged 14, and living with James and Janet (parents?), Charles Percy, George Leslie, Henry Thomas, Herbert Edward and Horace Vernon (brothers?) and Elsie Janet and Lavinia Eizabeth (sisters?) in Medway, Kent.
His mother died in 1915 at about the same time as the birth of Lilian.
