Birth of Herbert Edward Young in FreeBMD in January-March 1900 in Woolwich (1d 1390) which included Plumstead.

In the 1901 census as Herbert Edward Young aged 1, born in Plumstead, Kent, and living with his parents (James and Janet), two brothers (Harry Thomas and James Herbert), a visitor (Alice Wilson aged 24, born in Tame, Oxfordshire, single and a domestic servant) and a boarder (Henry Albert Wren aged 20, born in Plumstead, Kent, single and a machinist in steel) at 97 Robert Street, Plumstead, London. (Woolwich and Plumstead had been in London since 1889.)

The family moved to Medway between 1902 and 1905 from the births of Charley and Elsie.

In the 1911 census as Herbert Edward Young aged 11, and living with James and Janet (parents?), Charles Percy, George Leslie, Henry Thomas, James Herbert and Horace Vernon (brothers?) and Elsie Janet and Lavinia Eizabeth (sisters?) in Medway, Kent.

His mother died in 1915 at about the same time as the birth of Lilian.

There are two entries in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Herbert Edward Young born in about 1900 in Plumstead, Kent, parents James and Janet Young, and his death on 1 July 1988 in Paisley, Scotland. Another entry adds his mothers maiden name as Flood, and his wife as Euphemia Curtis, but gives his father as James William Young.

Relationship

Herbert Edward Young was the second cousin once removed of Ellen, wife of Thomas Paine, my eighth cousin three times removed.
