Similar information is in the Sussex Family History Group Sussex Marriage Index adding she was a spinster, he was a bachelor, both were of this parish, it was by banns, and witnessed by Jas Newman and Harriet Y.
Her two daughters were born in Littlehampton in 1832 and 1836, and son in East Preston in 1855. I assume her husband died between 1836 and 1839.

In the 1841 census as Catherine Madgwick aged 31, born in Sussex and living with her husband (David), son (William) and two daughters (Elizabeth and Mary) in Hampton Court, Littlehampton, Sussex.
In the 1851 census as Christrlin (sic - original illegible) Madgwick aged 41, born in Southwick, Sussex, and living with her husband (David) and two daughters (Elizabeth and Mare Ann) in the Green, Southwick, Sussex.
Her husband died in Steyning in 1858.

In the 1871 census as Kate Saunders aged 59, born in Southwick, Sussex, widowed, a gardener, and living with her son-in-law (William Saunders) in Mays Cottages, Fishergate, Southwick, Sussex.
In the 1881 census as Catherine Saunders aged 70, born in Southwick, widowed, deaf for 40 years, no stated employment and living with her son-in-law (William Saunders) in Chapel Road, Southwick, Sussex.
Her son-in-law died in Steyning in 1885. I cannot find an entry for her death, but also not in the later censuses.
Donald Hyland has an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Catherine Young born in 1810 in Southwick, Sussex, her marriage to William Burtenshaw and two daughters, and to David Madgwick. Brian Burtenshaw adds the date of her marriage to William Burten shaw on 3 October 1829 in Southwick, Sussex, and to David Madgwick on 11 August 1839 in Littlehampton, Sussex, and a son William.
Catherine Young was the grandaunt of Ellen, wife of Thomas Paine, my eighth cousin three times removed.
