In the 1901 census as Mabel Whittaker aged 10, born in Walkden, Lancashire, an orphan, and living with James Cooke (aged 61, born in Swinton, and a roller presser in a cotton mill), his wife (Hannah aged 59 and born in Worsley), his daughter (Mary Adaline aged 21, born in Little Hulton, single and a dressmaker at a milliner), and his nephew (Walter Cooke aged 35, single, born in Pateridge, Lancashire, and a roller presser in a cotton mill) at 33 Gower Street, Little Hulton, Lancashire.

Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns".

Her two daughters were born in Salford in 1911 and 1919 when they were living in Cunliffe Street.

Her husband died in Salford in 1923.

Her husband died on 2 March 1957 at Withington Hospital, Manchester but lived at 97 Bucklow Drive Northenden, Cheshire and left effects of £517 0s. 11d to Mabel Wetherell widow.

Note that Walkden and Little Hulton are some 7 miles NW of Manchester, Worsley is south of Walkden and Pendleton (which until 1892 formed part of the parish of Barton upon Irwell) is halfway between Walden and Manchester and was transfered to Salfiord from Barton upon Irwell in 1900.
