Marriage of John Whiting born about 1754 of Bury, Suffolk and Susan Harden in a submitted entry in the IGI and two children Elizabeth in 1784 and Sarah in 1786, but no date given for the marriage.
All the children were christened at St. James, Bury St. Edmunds but often after a delay, the first two on 12 October 1784 (Spelt Whitting) and the next three on 27 December 1791. Margaret is given as born on 30 August 1779 and christened on 8 September 1799 so I assume there is an error in her year of birth.
There is an entry in FamilyHistoryOnline Suffolk Burials for John Whiting on 14 June 1807 aged 48 at Bury St Edmunds St Mary.
Note that there is a Whiting Street in Bury St. Edmunds between Abbeygate Steet and Westgate Street.
Wingfield is 28 miles ENE of Bury St Edmunds.
