Notes

Birth of Mary Sutcliff in the IGI on 4 October 1722, and her christening at Saint Peter, Leeds, Yorkshire on 30 October 1722, father Joseph Sutcliff. The same information is in Ancestry England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. There four submitted entries for her birth on 4 October 1722. Three give the location as Wortley, Yorkshire with no additional information, one gives Leeds with parents Joseph and Mary Smith Sutcliff.

Entry in Ancestry West Yorkshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1512-1812 for Mary Sutcliff's baptism on 30 October 1722 at Leeds St Peter father Joseph Sutcliff. "[Page] 6 [...] Bap. October.1772 [...] Joseph Sutcliffs Ch. Wortley Bo 4 Bap 30 Mary",

Marriage of Mary Sutcliff and Joseph Fawcet in the IGI on 25 May 1746 at Saint Peter, Leeds, Yorkshire. The same information is in Ancestry England, Select Marriages, 1538-1973. There are also three submitted entries in the IGI - two just give the date of the marriage and in Leeds, and one adds his wife's name as Mary Sutcliffe.

Entry in Ancestry West Yorkshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1512-1812 for Mary Sutcliff and Joseph Fawcet on 25 May 1746 at Leeds, St Peter. "Marriages [...] Joseph Fawcet & Mary Sutcliff Holbeck T 25".

The children were all christened in Armley.

Her husband died at Wortley and was buried on 28 October 1787 at at Armley Chapel, Leeds.

Two entries in Ancestry West Yorkshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1512-1812 for the burial of Mary Fawcett on 6 July 1796, one in Leeds, St Peter "Burials at Armley Chapel in the year 1796 [...] Mary Fawcett Widw [of] Wortley][on] July 6" and at Armley, St Bartholomew "Burials in the Year 1796 [...] July [...] 6 Mary Fawcett Widow [of] Wortley". I suspect the St Bartholomew refers to a later building when Armley became a parish.

Wortley is about 3 miles west of Leeds and a quartermile south of Armley between A647 and A2110. Note there is another Wortley south of Barnsley.
