Entry in Sydney Morning Herald by Tony Spira 12 June 2007. "I now boycott the Lane Cove Tunnel and the M2 now unless in a dire emmergency. The charges for the use of Sydney tollways is a disgrace. There should be a fair fixed fee per kilometer for all these freeways. The only way to get the message across is stop using them. Perhaps there should be a one day a month boycott by the public to get the message across.".

Entry in Mumbrella by Tony Spira 24 Decmber 2015 "Most dissapointed TVS has left free to air TV. Though a bit amateurish in part, that was its appeal. It was an escape from conventional TV, going further than SBS did in the 80’s and really did have some excellent content. I loved the fishing shows without masses of annoying adds, the 4WD adventure segments, art classes, old TV shows not seen since the 1950’s and how can you possibly not comment on Nigel Honeybone’s superb Schlocky Horror Picture Show. How else could you see Classics like Nosfurato on a big TV screen. Then you had Aussie Movies and other fascinating small scale Australian productions. Far more educational than many other free to air channels. I’d have expected better from the Lib, particularly the ‘Small L’s’ like Malcolm. Will a massive petition help ? Maybe, however how many were actually watching TVS. Many couldn’t receive it. Yes, the bureaucrats have a way of ruining many aspects of life in this country. They believe they are saving money, however destroying morale and life’s little enjoyments actually ‘cost’ the community far more. Shame on you !"

Tony Spira Volunteer at Centennial Park
Tony has been a frequent visitor to Centennial Parklands since the 1950's and has recently joined the Volunteer Program as a photographer. He is passionate about Australian fauna and flora, geology, astronomy, classical music and learning violin. He is also a committee member of the Jenolan Caves Historical and Preservation Society. During the warmer months he takes part in the Flying Fox surveying team which involves near daily checking of the colony in summer. He also works with the Guirwal Trail team planting and weeding this important cultural site and small bird habitat.

Relationship

Tony Spira was the grandnephew of Jenny Kuttner and Paula Kuttner, aunts of Rosel Erna Feibusch, wife of Reginald Sidney Bushnell, husband of Margaret Daphne Ayres, wife of William J Boxall, my second cousin once removed.
