He was found guilty on 30 June 1927 of unlawfully and indecently assaulting Lillian Fagg on 11 June 1927 and was sentenced to six months hard labour. He had previous convictions at West Malling Petty Sessions for stealing ducks and riding a bicycle without lights several times.
