In the 1911 census as Fredrick Read, aged 4, born in Gosport, Hampshire, and living with his parents (Thomas Balmer and Minnie Maria), and two sisters (Alice Dorothy and Elizabeth Ann) in five rooms at 30 Anstey Terrace, Anstey Road, Alton, Hampshire.
His mother died in Alton soon after the 1911 census.
Entry in Ancestry Hampshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, 1813-1921 for Frederick Read born 10 February 1906 (sic - on the original but does not correspond to the registration) baptised 31 December 1911 in Upper Clatford, parents Thomas Balmere and Minnie Maria Read. His father married Edith Newell in Alton in 1916 and the rest of of the family appear to have moved to Grinsdale, Cummersdale, Carlisle by the 1921 census but I cannot locate an entry for Frederick.
