I cannot locate her birth/christening, marriage or death and am not sure of the spelling of her suname. The only information comes from her children's christenings. There are no christenings for Rae in Newtyle - there was Margaret Rae christenened in Glamis (9 miles east) in 1683 but another Margaret was christened with the same father in 1691 implying the first one died. There were three marriages for Rae in Newtyle about this time - Margrat Rae to Patrike Tasker on 19 February 1691, Elizabeth Rae to Georg Millar on 9 August 1695 and Alexander Rae to Helen Smith on 15 February 1717. I assume all had the same parents. John Rae or Rea was christened in 1679 in Glamis, William Rea in 1694 in Glamis, Isobell Rea was in 1687 in Newtyle and Margaret Rea in 1696 in Glamis. The only burial was a Jean Rea on 8 January 1763.
There is a submitted entry in the IGI for Margaret Rae married to James Smith, and a daughter Margaret.
Her son was baptised on 30 May 1703, and four daughters on 24 February 1705, 20 May 1706, and 8 October 1710 and 10 November 1712 in Newtyle, parents James Smith and Margaret Rae for the first three and Rea for the last two.
There is an entry in Ancestry Family Trees for Marg Rae.
