In the 1861 census as George Paine aged 3, born in Brighton, and living with his parents (Joseph and Emma), six brothers (Frederick, Friend, Henry, Joseph, Stephen and Thomas), two sisters (Caroline and Emma) and a lodger (George Sargent) at 6 Cavendish Place North, Brighton St Peter, Sussex.

In the 1871 census as George Paine aged 13, born in Brighton, and living with his parents (Joseph and Emma), two brothers (Henry and William), three sisters (Annie, Caroline and Elizabeth) and a lodger (Charles Still aged 26, born in Brighton, unmarried and employed as a bricklayers labourer) at 48 Denmark Road, Willesdon, Middlesex (just east of Queens Park Underground).

His father died in 1871 and his mother remarried.

In the 1881 census as George Paine aged 22, born in Brighton, employed as a stair builder, and lodging with Christiana Gardener (aged 46, born in East Dean, Sussex and widowed), her four children (Ada aged 18 born in Newbold, Worcestershire and employed as a housemaid, Eva aged 4 and born in Ealing, George aged 7 and born in Ealing, and Harry aged 17, born in Newbold, and employed as a decorator), and a nephew (Frank Sier aged 15, born in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, and employed as an uphosterer) at 10 Dane Terrace, Ealing, Middlesex (another family lived at the same address).

I cannot find any later information.

George Paine was my eighth cousin three times removed.
