In 1871 census as Frederick Payne aged 2, born in Southwark, Surrey, and living with his parents (George W and Francis), two brothers (George W and Henry I) and sister (Mary A) at 13 Tower Steet, St George, Southwark, Surrey (there were 4 families living at this address). I cannot find this in the London A-Z, but from the census it is close to Westminster Bridge Road near St George's Circus.
The family were living at 13 Tower Street, Southwark at the birth of his sister in 1874, his brother was born in Greenwich in late 1876, his mother died there in 1877 and his father married Sarah Jane Gill in Thanet in 1879.
In 1881 Census as Frederick Paine aged 12, born in Lambeth, Surrey , and living with his father (George W), (step)mother (Sarah), two brothers (Henry J and Charles) and sister (Emma) at 38 Clyde street, Deptford St Paul, Kent.
Marriage of Frederick Payne and Elizabeth Reed in FreeBMD October-December 1890 in Lambeth (1d 793). On a copy of the entry of marriage dated 7 January 2005 the marriage of Frederick Payne and Elizabeth Reed took place on 26 December 1890 at the parish church of St Mary, Lambeth. He was aged 22, a bachelor, and employed as a brass finisher and living at 66 Sussex Lodge (his wife lived next door at 67). His father was George Payne, also employed as a brass finisher. The marriage was witnessed by Frederick George Luffill and Alice Reed.
In 1891 census as Trsechecick Payne in the index (writing in the original is almost illegible) aged 22, born in Lambeth, London employed as a sanitary brass finisher, and living with his wife (Elizabeth), mother-in-law (Eliza Reede), sister in law (Olice Reece) and Phoeby Pinder (aged 6, born in Swellen (Sweden?) but a British Subject - a neice? child) at 38 Dante Place, Newington, London (they had 3 rooms, and two other families occupied two rooms each).
Lived in Newington and Lambeth after his marriage from the birth of his children.
In 1901 census as Frederick Payne aged 32 born in Southwark, London, employed as a school caretaker at Boardschool, 18 Walnut Tree Walk, Lambeth, London, and living there with his wife (Elizabeth), two daughters (Alice and Minnie) , son (Frederick G) and mother-in-law (Eliza Raad).
Frederick Payne was my granduncle.
