I cannot locate the family in the 1871 census.
In the 1881 census as Walter Ord aged 12, born in Ford, Northumberland, and living with his parents (Thomas and Mary), brother (John) and two sisters (Jane and Mary A) in Aricultural Labourer's Cottage in Fawdon Clinch Hartside Reaveley, Northumberland.
In the 1891 census as Walter Ord aged 22, born in Belford, Northumber, single, a general labourer, and boarding with his widowed grandmother (Eleanor Ord), aunt (Isabella Ord) and nephew (Thomas Ord) in two rooms at 35 Sycamore Street, Elswick, Northumberland.
