Services for Rollin F. Nelson, formerly of Geneseo and Cambridge, of Forest Hill Health Center, East Moline, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Wright Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Nelson died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at the care center. He was born Jan. 18, 1915, in Geneseo. He married Doris Larson in 1936 in Geneseo. He farmed in the Geneseo area and operated Nelson Trucking, Geneseo, until retiring. He also farmed in the Port Byron area for 10 years. Memorials may be made to his family. Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughters, Heloise Plazak, Tonto Verde, Ariz., Verda Burbrid.ge, Milan, and Karen Rice, Geneseo; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren

Doris Nelson, Fieldcrest Village, 603 N. Prospect St. Apt. 106, Cambridge, will be honored June 28 at an open house in observance of her 85th birthday. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 1 to 4 p.m. in the rec room at Fieldcrest Village. The former Doris Larson was born July 2, 1913, in Blue Island. She was residing in Silvis when she was married to Rollin Nelson of Geneseo, on Feb. 9, 1936, in Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo. They are the parents of Heloise Plazak, Rio Verde, Ariz., Verda Burbridge, Milan, and Karen Rice, Geneseo. There are nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nelson was employed at the former Corset Shoppe in Moline, and at Hillsdale Elevator, where she was manager.

Heloise Doris Nelson was the mother of Douglas Allen Plazak, husband of Jessica Marie Helliwell, daughter of John Robert Helliwell, husband of Sarah Louise Bushnell, daughter of Margaret Daphne Ayres, wife of William J Boxall, my second cousin once removed.
