Notes

There two entries in FreeBMD in April-June 1875 in Kensington, one for the birth of Charles Ephriam Jprdan (1a 26 and Charles Ephran Jordan (1a 25), but the latter does not exist on the original.

In the 1881 census as Charles E Jordon (sic - in the index, correct on the original) aged 6, born in Paddington, Middlesex, and living with his parents (Thomas and Emily), and three brothers (Arthur Edw, Fredk Jas P and Thomas W) and sister (Emily E) at 25 Goldney Road, Paddington St Mary. There were three other families at the same address.

His mother died in 1883 in Kensington, and his father married Lavina Ann Bradley [Lungley] in 1887.

In the 1891 census as Charles E Jordan aged 16, born in Paddington, London, a railway audit clerk, and living with his father (Thomas), (step)mother (Lavina A), two brothers (Arthur E and Frederick J) and sister (Emily E) in four rooms at 200 Fernhead Road, Paddington, London. There were two other families at the same address.

Marriage of Charles Ephriam Jordan and Susan Hope in FreeBMD in July-September 1900 in Lambeth (1d 760).

In the 1901 census as Charles Ephriam Jordan aged 30 in the index but 25 on the original, born in Paddington, London, a railway booking clerk, and living with his wife (Susan) in three rooms at 5 Macroom Road, Paddington, London. There were two other families living at the same address.

In the 1911 census as Charles Jordan aged 35, and living with Susan (wife?), Arthur, Charles and Harold (children?) in Paddington, London.

His wife died in Hamstead in 1913.

R J Clark has an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Charles Ephraim (sic) Jordan born 3 April 1875, parents Thomas Jordan and Emily Langford, and his death on 7 May 1934 in Paddington. His brother Thomas has the same date and I cannot find a corresponding entry in the Register of Deaths.

Note Kensington was transfered from Middlesex to London in 1889 and became Paddington in 1895.

Relationship

Charles Ephriam Jordan was the father of Harold Graham, the husband of Doris Grocock, my half third cousin. He was also the nephew of Edgar Jordan, husband of Amy Luff, my half first cousin twice removed.
