I cannot find an entry for their marriage.

In the 1861 census as William Howard aged 5, born in Woking, Surrey. a nurse child and living with Richar Alexander (aged 42, born in Pirtnewham (Puttenham?), Surrey and an agricultural labourer) and his wife (Elizabeth aged 40 and born in Woking, Surrey) in Prey Heath, Woking, Surrey.

In the 1871 census as William Howard aged 16, born in Woking, single and an agricultural labourer), and boarding with Richard Alexander (aged 53, born in Puttenham, Surrey, and an agricultural labourer), his wife (Elizabeth aged 50 and born in Woking, Surrey), her brother (George Peace aged 40, born in Woking, Surrey, single and a Greenwich Pensioner), and his granddaughter (Mary Hampton aged 6 and born in Woking, Surrey) in Prey Heath, Woking, Surrey.

Married in the aforesaid Chapel according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns [...] in the Presence of us Mary Hamton and William Elliott".

His daughter and son were baptised on 11 January 1885 and 13 February 1887 at St Peter, Woking, when he was a labourer living in Westfield or Kingfield, Woking.

His wife died in Guildford in January-March 1890.
